Together We…

Dear Friends of HCAP,

In this time of uncertainty, there’s a fundamental truth that gives us hope – that together we can do extraordinary things. Over the past few weeks and months, the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help out, give back, and heal. Whether that’s through donations to community organizations, celebrating doctors and nurses at shift changes, or reaching out to a neighbor to help with groceries, generosity has been helping the entire world get through this global pandemic. Together.

On May 5, 2020, HCAP is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving. As you know, our organization has been working hard since 2017 to provide Hungarians in Phoenix and surrounding areas with opportunities to celebrate their heritage and to get to know this culture better. We have brought artists from Hungary to you, organized workshops, concerts, theater plays. We have language learning classes on a bi-weekly basis, monthly meetings, as well as community Tuesdays. Most of these were transitioned onto an online platform with the start of the pandemic. More so, some of our activities became more frequent giving additional opportunities to engage with each other. See a more detailed description of our activities here.

But we can’t do this without you!

Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us too!

HCA Phoenix

The Hungarian Cultural Association of Phoenix (HCAP) is an independent, all-volunteer, educational, charitable and non-partisan organization open to anyone with interest in nurturing the Hungarian language and culture, regardless of world view, nationality, or religion. Our goal is to nurture the Hungarian language, culture, identity, and traditions, and make them available to present and future generations through educational programs, celebrations, commemorative events, and social gatherings. Through our mission, we aim to broaden familiarity with the Hungarian culture within the American community, thereby nurturing and strengthening Hungarian-American ties and relationships.

    1. Hi Patricia. We have had our 2nd AZ Hungarian Festival already on March 7th 2020. However, we do have two additional annual events that are larger (festival like): the Harvest Festivity in October and the Christmas Market in December. We are continuously checking the recommendations related to COVID19 and if it is safe to gather, we are definitely planning on organizing these events this year. We will let everyone know in advance. If you sign up to our blog here, or request to be added to our Newsletter at hca.of.phoenix@gmail.com you will definitely be notified about all larger events and small gatherings happening at HCAP.
