The Hungarian Heritage Festival (aka Hungarian Festival AZ or HunFest) is organized by the Hungarian Cultural Association of Phoenix since 2019. The HCAP is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.
The goal of the Festival was to start an annual event that has as its main purpose to showcase Hungarian traditions and values for a larger audience. But at the same time we also wanted to serve the Hungarian community through providing them with the opportunity to preserve their heritage, build community and have fun.
The previous years in the life of HCAP have proved that there is a need for celebrating together, to experience the ties that we have with each other through our heritage and colorful culture.
In 2020 we have moved the Festival to the Soleri Amphitheater at Glendale Community College in order to offer a larger and more spacious area to our visitors.
We have added more vendors too by offering local and West Coast Hungarian organizations, as well as local non-Hungarian owned organizations the opportunity to showcase their businesses, initiate dialogue, exchange knowledge and experience.
Our association is also an advocate for building dialogue between different nationalities. We would like to be a tie between the different ethnic groups and the Hungarian community. We strive towards making everybody feel welcomed. You can join the Hungarian Heritage Festival no matter what your nationality or level of knowledge of the Hungarian language is. If you are interested in the culture and would like to try out authentic Hungarian food, listen to great music and watch some folk dances, your place is there. The programs are developed in such way that through them visitors would be able to get to know our values, culture, unique customs, and historical heritage. Our purpose with this Festival is to fit into a broader, regional and international discourse.
The programs that we offer are expanding each year and are offering quality entertainment to all age groups.
