Piknik és szüret

Október vége és november eleje mozgalmas időszak volt a Napocska iskolások számára. Nagy lelkesedéssel készült mindenki az ötödik tanítási napon a szüreti bálra, valamint arról is beszélgettünk, hogy november elején mi az amit a magyarok ünnepelnek és összehasonlítottuk az amerikai szokásokkal. Így nem maradhatott el a tökből készült kézímunkák készítése sem.

A hatodik tanítási nap sem az osztályteremben telt el, hanem a szüreti bál keretén belül zajlott. A gyerekek nem csak bemutatták az előadást amivel készültek, de tanultak is a szüretről, valamint alkalmuk nyílt megtapasztalni egy hagyományos szüreti tevékenységet, a szőlő préselést. A nagyobbak ki is próbálhatták a prést, no meg az erejüket.

Legközelebb november 17-én találkozunk, a hetedik tanítási napon, melyre mindenkit szeretettel várunk.

The end of October and November was a pretty busy period for our students at Napocska Hungarian School. On our fifth meeting we have practiced a lot for the Harvest festivity. Besides that, we have talked about Hungarian holidays that are celebrated at the beginning of November and we compared our traditions with the American. Mindszentek, Halottak Napja was part of our discussions just as Halloween. We even created some pumpkin crafts.

The sixth meeting was not spent in the classroom either. We met at the Harvest Festival where kids had the opportunity to learn about this tradition. After doing a great job performing, the kids were included into the wine pressing process. They have experienced the whole process from start to finish. They were also able to take turns and try out their power.

Next time we will be meeting on November 17 for the seventh class in this semester.
